Our guests have loved La Louche! Here are some of their comments.
"Just a brief email to tell you how thoroughly we enjoyed our stay in Caromb.
The house is superb and we appreciated Caromb village life for the all too
brief stay. You have done an excellent job in presenting the house and its
contents to ensure an delightful stay. We particularly took advantage of
the wisteria cloaked outdoor area as the weather was kind to us. Caromb
is an ideal location to use as a base for sightseeing in Provence.
We travelled quite extensively but no day trip over extended us.
Once
again, our thanks for the La Louche experience."

"We had a wonderful week in La Louche
and the beautiful village of Caromb. Your house lives up to everything you
present on your website and more. I must firstly congratulate you on your
directions which I duly transmitted from the back seat of our car to the driver,
visuals included, and we arrived without any deviations! I was prompted to
proclaim that only a woman could have produced such amazing detail. Ditto the
photo re locking the front door! We loved the house, the village and
the surrounding countryside. Our stay there was one of the highlights of our
month in Europe. We especially enjoyed the meals we were able to produce –
lunches on the terrace and dinners around the table listening to some great
music. Loved wandering around the village and further afield, waking to the
church bells in the morning and gazing across to Mt Ventoux - a different scene
every day. We could easily have spent another week there. Many thanks for the effort you put
in to making your house such a warm and welcoming experience. I truly hope
we’re able to make a return visit one day."

"We arrived back from our
holiday last week and things are now back to normal. I just wanted
to say that we loved La Louche and Caromb and thanks so much for all the
welcome gifts and information. It was so comfortable there and I
enjoyed the domesticity after staying in hotels. The only
fault we could find was perhaps the steps, and a suggestion that
maybe you could highlight the bottom step from the bedrooms to the
living area as a couple of us missed it. I know you mention it in
the info and I guess it’s a quirk of Provencal building!
We also enjoyed being able to walk out of the village and amongst the
vineyards in 5 or 10 minutes! I walked to Crillon le Brave and back one
day and that is a lovely walk.
We shall be recommending La Louche to our
friends and many thanks once again.

"Everything worked
flawlessly in La Louche. The layout was ideal for two couples to have
privacy as well as having the main floor and the gorgeous terrace for
being congenial. The boucherie as well as the close by boulangerie were
both closed for most of our 2 weeks, but that presented no problem as we
were out and about in other villages every day to buy a little Jambon de
Paris, bread, etc. Four aux Chaux was very pleasant with the ideal
weather everyday permitting seating on the terrace. Other places we
enjoyed were Les Abeilles, Les Florets, Chateau Mazan for Sunday lunch,
Graine de Sel in St. Remy, a routier type place on the road between
Vaison and Crestet called Auberge de la Garenne for a very inexpensive
menu on the large terrace, Clos du Patre was pleasant and good value."
We just loved your place and are awed with the work it must have
required to get it so nice with the modern conveniences without
destroying its charm.

“Les
Premises is spectacular... we have had a wonderful time here. So over a bottle
of Nuits-Saint-George burgundy - yeah I
know, not local - here is my report.
Restaurants
are, as expected, exceptional: Le Grand Pre ... exceptionnel, spent a good
three hours there and am trying to get to Bistro du'O before we leave, loved
Chez Serge today in Carpentras. How do you find these places? AOC - well we had
a fantastic day in Avignon.
You guys have to be here for the OFF Festival next year - wonderful atmosphere and loved the casualness
of AOC, after a concurrent recommendation by Caves Nicholas in Avignon where we
bought our non-local vins - there is
only so much GSM you can drink!... And, finally, absolutely loved Le Jardin Du
Quai despite spending 90 minutes to find it!
Locals
have been a knockout. Had a great time at Festival de Figues, just hung in the
main drag at Bar de Cours for about 4-5 hours and watched and drank etc, etc.
My
morning sojourn at 6.30am uptown starts with espresso with Claudine at that
bar, pick up the paper, a few baguettes and then home for petit déjeuner.
It’s also
been wonderful having wifi here -it means I can have an extended vacation while
keeping an eye on things!
btw
Bernard's roast lamb from the rotisserie at Tuesday's market is a knockout!”

“Just wanted to let you know how much we all
enjoyed our French holiday experience at La Louche. Your cottage was everything
we hoped for and more!!! We all had a fantastic week in Caromb and beyond. The
weather was great and it was so lovely coming home to your fantastic cottage
every afternoon to prepare, eat and drink all the wonderful food and wine we
had purchased at all the different markets in the surrounding area.
We especially loved the great courtyard and
had most of our meals there. The bakery up the lane was yum and we got on so
well with all the village people. We have brought home some fantastic memories
from beautiful France.”

"La Louche was absolutely fantastic and I have since recommended it to some others although I note you are already fairly heavily
booked this year. The restaurant was excellent for New Year and we visited many little restaurants nearby. Your directions were spot on, the house was great and exceptionally well appointed and had everything we needed when we did feel
like cooking. We visited about 4 markets in the week (Caromb’s was probably the smallest at that time of year) and bought way too much food each time.
We did get lost/confused leaving the Avignon railway station for Caromb on day 1 but eventually made ourselves understood and we then just followed our nose and
all was well. The weather was great – only 1 day with a very small bit of drizzle – certainly nothing to stop us doing anything – we probably had at
least 4 lunches in the courtyard and thoroughly enjoyed the sun and solitude.
It was great and may well warrant another visit in the future. Returning to work was not easy!"

"Just have to drop you a line to say how much we
enjoyed our time in your wonderful house in Caromb. La Louche was so perfect.
You had thought of everything a travelling tourist needs, from the washing
machine down to the insulated picnic hamper, which we used constantly. We spent
many an hour sipping wine and enjoying the glorious view looking out to Mount
Ventoux from the spacious patio. La Louche is in a perfect spot, so handy to the
centre of town. Caromb is such a warm and friendly village, people could not
have been more obliging, our French is non-existent but with sign language and a
few laughs we got by.
The house was so welcoming we really could have
spent our entire week just strolling around Caromb but thought we really had to
travel to all the surrounding areas. Thank you for the guides for market days,
and information on the other towns, we put it all to good use.
Please do
not hesitate to use our names as references for any future tenant. Thanks
once again, and who knows what the future may hold. We may see La Louche
again."
