Seasonal eating

One of the charms of Provence is that there are four distinctive seasons. Nowhere is this more evident than at the markets. Visit in autumn and you’ll eat figs and mushrooms while in spring, it’s asparagus, artichokes, and the first strawberries. It’s a good reason for visiting at a different time each year.

Here are some seasonal highlights. Don’t forget that there are books in the house such as Provence of Alain Ducasse that will help you find the best places to buy them. We also provide you with a comprehensive guide to the best food and wine shops and markets in the area which you can read before you leave home. There's also a copy in the house.
