Caromb is in the Department of Vaucluse, in the heart of Provence. Renowned for its food and wine, historic villages, breathtaking scenery, sunshine and relaxed lifestyle, this is one part of France where everything still does shut at noon for at least two hours while everyone has lunch.

Getting there

The nearest large town is Avignon, which has several TGV services each day from Paris. The journey takes about 2½ hours. Caromb is about 35km north-east of Avignon, an easy 45 minute drive.

There is also a train service that runs from Avignon city centre and the TGV station to Carpentras. This link has the up to date timetable. A taxi from Carpentras to Caromb takes about 10 minutes.

Caromb is easily reached from many airports that are serviced by international carriers:

  • Marseille (Marignane), Nimes and Montpellier (Mediteranée) are all within 90 minutes drive
  • Lyon (St-Exupery) is a 2½ hour drive
  • Nice (Côte d'Azur) is a 3 hour drive

Caromb is also very close to two medium-sized towns that have lots of facilities – Carpentras (10km) and Vaison-la-Romaine (22km).
